Elementary School Renovation

The elementary school design incorporated two connecting corridors. The existing corridors suffered thermal expansion and contraction problems which resulted in window glass breaking and water intrusion into the structure. Lack of insulation and energy efficient glazing also contributed to costly energy bills. A new structural frame was designed, new energy efficient glazing installed and insulation was added to the new roof structure. The existing HVAC system was also upgraded. This project was a State of Maryland project meeting IAC/PSCP design requirements.
